Final Confrontation is an effective piece of acoustic-focused dark underscore, with an emphasis placed on percussion, sparse ethnic woodwind effects, and gradually building string and brass motifs. This piece is especially suited for long, tension-building sequences.
It begins with percussion accents and atmospheric cymbal swells. Then at 0:20, a more consistent drum rhythm enters amidst the more ambient elements. This beat continues until around 0:50, when a low string ostinato starts to establish a darker, more sinister mood. The string escalation keeps building and is then joined by brass “braams” at 1:35, before a more malevolent brass melody begins at 1:50.
