Two Tone Ska

Two Tone Ska

Combining reggae, rocksteady and ska from the 1960s, 2 tone developed in the 70s, fusing with punk and then became even more well known in the 1980s with the third wave of two tone, popular with the skinhead and post punk generation. With choppy reggae beats played with crunchy guitars and organs, brass instruments were often introduced and in this example the trumpet section plays the main hook of the track. With cameo appearances from saxophone and lead guitar, plus a few dub reggae style delay hits to keep it slightly contemporary.
