This sound effects pack contains WAV and MP3 versions of three short tracks that together make the sound of an imaginary steam punk handheld device booting up, idling, and powering down. The tracks are:

Steampunk Quick Boot: 0:02 Steampunk Idle: 0:20 Steampunk Off 0:02

The Steampunk Idle file makes a 20 second loop that can be cut off and ended with the “off” file to make run as long or short as you need it to. The download comes with 6 files total. These tracks are also available on Audio Jungle individually if you don’t need them all.

My goal was to create the sound of an imaginary handheld tablet device invented during the industrial period, and I was aiming more for understated realism than outlandish fantasy. The tracks are intensionally understated, and involve simple clicks, whirs, and soft puffs of steam. The preview file demonstrates their use, and it should be noted that the results are best if the “off” file slightly overlaps the “idle” when ending the clip.
