Usefull too for notification of a new RSS feed, but it may be used for whatever notification you like: e-mail messages, alarms, clicks, new tweet on Twitter, SMS or instant message received, etc. It can also be used in games as a sound effect when an item is collected, goal reached, stage or level cleared, puzzle solved, right answer given, for bonus points, or similar successful action performed by a player.
