Gentle Warm Travel has a driving pulse derived from the textural sound of a national-steel guitar with a slight delay on the beat, giving rise to an interesting, almost drone-like effect. The steel guitar is complemented by a softly bouncing bass and drum combination then topped off with some sparingly sweet electric-guitar phrasing. Guitar amp noise has been purposefully retained in the mix to give an ambience at once alive but a little mysterious.
