Dramatic aria written by Giuseppe Verdi, for his opera “Un Ballo in Maschera”, performed here in original Italian, by a mezzo-soprano singer Zhenia.
“Re dell`abisso, affrettati” is the first highlight of the scene featuring Ulrica, a fortune-teller, and a witch, before her meeting with the main character, the king. While being less known than the other famous arias in mezzo-soprano repertoire, this is considered as one of the most difficult and dramatically charged piece, usually performed by the most prominent and seasoned mezzo and contralto singers.
Featuring a dark orchestral accompaniment, this piece has a special sound resembling the contemporary soundtrack, fantasy and video games orchestral music, with its special mood and ambience.
The package contains both Wav and MP3 files of the track, for greater compatibility.
Please check out the other operatic performances in Soundlufs catalog and stay tuned for more arias released soon!
