This short clip is indicative of the classic horror movies soundtracks. The chords in the orchestra are tense and mellow, creating a sense of unnerving suspense. The first two chords fade in slowly and mysteriously, then fade into the scary blackness beyond. Then the last notes sit and leave the listener uncomfortable and probably afraid. This is meant to be a throwback sound to the glory days of Alfred Hitchcock and Bernard Hermann. Black and white and awesome.
