New Year – Auld Lang SyneAuld Lang Syne is the song everyone sings on New Years Eve to celebrate the New Year (also known as Hogmanay in Scotland). This is a modern and hauntingly beautiful arrangement of this traditional Scottish tune for female voice, piano and harp.
As well as celebrating the New Year, “Auld Lang Syne” is widely used to symbolise other “endings and new beginnings” including farewells, funerals (and memorials), graduations, the end of a Scout gathering, as well as the election of a new government. In Scotland, it is associated with celebrations and memorials of Robert Burns. In many Burns Clubs, it is sung at the end of the Burns supper.

LyricsShould old acquaintance be forgot
And never brought to mind?
Should old acquaintance be forgot
And auld lang syne?
For auld lang syne, my dear
For auld lang syne
We’ll take a cup of kindness yet
For auld lang syne.
Happy New Year!
