What genre would this be… I’ve been hearing this kind of stuff at music festivals lately, always after midnight… and I always forget the names of these new artists… Nice that it’s not all empty 4 on the floor, finally I can listen to some nice 80’s melodies.

This type of music is typically classed as ElectroPop, a sort of 80s revival. It’s certainly becoming quite a popular sound at the moment, with bands like Empire of the Sun and Future Islands exploring this sound. Also check out ‘Mechanical’ by Oliver, if you like 80s melodies!
