The first release from Dave Rich since 2016 ‘When We Sang In The Sun’ is a powerful love song dedicated to open mics and jam sessions.

Written and recorded at home with all instruments performed by Dave, the song tells of ‘The Sun’ – actually a pub (The Rising Sun) where Dave ran an open mic for many years.

“The song was written in lockdown in 2021 – I miss the open mics so much, they were a massive part of my life and it’s now been nearly a year without them. I never realised how important they were and how much I appreciated that community until it was gone – I kept the sound of me pressing the spacebar at the end of the song because for me it’s a sad reminder that this was all done on my own – an ode to great people and fantastic times. I can’t wait until we can play those old songs again together”
