Folk Punk

Folk Punk

“Uplifting Folk Punk Shanty” is the new royalty free music by Andy Slatter.

This rousing and uplifting punky folk rock track features mandolins, electric bass, bodhran, uillean pipes, drums, percussion, and some background vocal chants (non vocal version is also included)

Jangling textures of fast strummed mandolins are overlaid with simple but infectious melodies on mandolin, doubled with uillean pipes, and driven along by stirring and invigorating drums, hand claps, bodhran and tambourine, punctuated with the pirate like sea shanty vocal phrases shouting “Ahoy!”

The end result is an uplifting, electrifying and invigorating track, with a definite influence from folk, but with an added backbone of punk/rock, slightly reminiscent of bands like the Pogues, or Dropkick Murphys, fused with an influence from traditional folk/sea shanty type music.

This track would work really well in advertising and TV, particularly in projects concerning extreme sports, team games, water sports, sailing and fishing, action and adventure, travel, team work, achievement, winning. It would also be great in games and apps, or any other project where an exhilarating feel is required.
