This song is a two-part cinematic transition: Reflecting, panning shots, introspective, human moments based on piano and light orchestration. Then, the action scene kicks in and we have a dramatic, epic landscape of full orchestra and exciting drums.
There’s a time in film or television near the final climax, where you present the theme and emotional moment in a ‘last pause before the epic conclusion’. In a blockbuster movie like Braveheart, you would have armies gathering together, show some human moments in slow motion as people get ready, then the action would begin and the soundtrack would follow.
In a martial arts or sports movie (such as Rocky, Hero etc..) this would also represent intensity in training, as those scenes have little dialogue and frequently need to rely on the music to add drama and a sense of struggle to what we’re seeing.
However this soundtrack is also useful in an urban setting, as any shot that has lots of movement or scope in it, such as helicopter or drone footage, or heavy editing such as a chase scene will be well matched.
This will add a blend of thoughtfulness, pause, excitement, drama, scope, and intensity to your project.
