One of Erik Satie’s most celebrated solo piano compositions, Gnossienne No.2, has a slow, calm, lethargic, dark, and melancholic mood. The new version of this impressionistic piece highlights the atmospheric and cinematic character that this music contains, arguably some of the first “ambient” music to be written in the Western classical tradition of impressionism.
