A calm yet intense Asian-style composition. Using the traditional Japanese percussion combo of taiko drums and woodblocks this piece introduces itself, with it are dark and haunting strings. Then enters the traditional Japanese flute, the Shakuhachi, with a thoughtful melody. This is then responded by the koto (a Japanese plucked instrument). A percussion interlude ensures and then the koto returns, later accompanied by the piano. Finally the main melody returns and the piece closes with a deep percussion solo.
Imagine a samurai sitting in the highest point of his castle, observing the morning fog fall over his lands. He does not now what this day will bring, be it battle or peace, for as long as he has control of his mind and body he will always be honourable!
