This kind of music used to be heard in wild west saloons, usually with sounds of breaking glass, screams, gunshots and happiness… It’s called Ragtime, and it was played on an upright piano, or on an automatic, player piano. The first films also used this type of music, mainly for comic purposes.
Includes 3 versions for more flexibility:
- Ragtime Comedy Piano [vintage] – 2:20
- Ragtime Comedy Piano [modern, no noise] – 2:20
- Ragtime Comedy Piano [modern grand, no noise] – 2:20
First version is played on an upright vintage piano, recorded on a vinyl, so it has crackles and hiss.
Second one is played on a relatively modern piano recorded on tape, it doesn’t contain the noises.
Third one is played on a modern concert grand piano, so it is the most “clean” version.
