The pocket symphony has the same great taste as a full symphony, with a third less calories. The concept behind this work was to try to pack a good portion of a traditional sonata-allegro symphonic movement into a small package. It includes a light, buoyant theme, a short development, a brief visit to the relative minor, a recapitulation, and a coda – all in less than three minutes. The mood is light and upbeat, with only enough drama to keep things interesting. If you’re looking for an uplifting symphonic piece for a project, this may fit the bill.
