Of Foreign Lands and Peoples is the first of thirteen pieces of Scenes from Childhood, Opus 15 by famous German composer Robert Schumann. Schumann wrote 30 movements for this work, but chose 13 for the final version.
Of Foreign Lands and Peoples is in G major. The style of this music is very much Schumann’s own, in that the textures are quite complex, and yet the melody line is clear. Although the piece is in 2-time, there are triplet rhythms on the left hand. I have played this piece on a Steinway concert piano. It is ideal for your projects needing a romantic solo piano piece.
