This is the fifth of 18 Nocturnes that were composed by famous Irish pianist, and composer John Field in the 19th century. Field’s style and technique strikingly anticipated those of Chopin. After all, he is the father and inventor of ’Nocturne’ form. This is one of the best examples of earlier nocturnes with expressive melodies and imaginative harmonies in B flat major. It has influences from Classical Period and Romantic Period. I have played this beautiful piece on a Steinway concert piano. It is ideal for your projects needing soft piano music.
