Mussorgsky Promenade Pictures at an Exhibition

Mussorgsky Promenade Pictures at an Exhibition

Music Description

Pictures at an Exhibition (Pictures from an Exhibition – A Remembrance of Viktor Hartmann; French: Tableaux d’une exposition) is a suite in ten movements (plus a recurring, varied Promenade) composed for piano by Russian composer Modest Mussorgsky in 1874.

The “Promenade” is the main theme from “Pictures at an Exhibition” and is the most widely recognized part of Mussorgsky’s piece. The piece has a noble, elegant mood, and is great for art galleries, classy restaurants, and introductions to classical music YouTube videos or podcasts.
