Mussorgsky Hut on Fowl's Legs

Mussorgsky Hut on Fowl's Legs

Music Description

Pictures at an Exhibition (Pictures from an Exhibition – A Remembrance of Viktor Hartmann; French: Tableaux d’une exposition) is a suite in ten movements (plus a recurring, varied Promenade) composed for piano by Russian composer Modest Mussorgsky in 1874.

The “Hut” referred to in the piece is the hut of the Baba Yaga, a supernatural being in Slavic folklore who appears as a deformed and/or ferocious-looking woman. The piece depicts a witch’s flight and the whirlwind sounds of a chase. This makes the piece great for Halloween videos, particularly those with witches.
