Mussorgsky Catacombs

Mussorgsky Catacombs

Music Description

Pictures at an Exhibition (Pictures from an Exhibition – A Remembrance of Viktor Hartmann; French: Tableaux d’une exposition) is a suite in ten movements (plus a recurring, varied Promenade) composed for piano by Russian composer Modest Mussorgsky in 1874.

This piece is about examining the Paris catacombs by the light of a lantern. The dark, spooky mood of the piece makes it great for suspense or horror movies as well as any Halloween-themed projects.
