J.S. Bach Bourree In E Minor BWV 996 on Lute

Loading

Bourrée in E minor is a very popular lute piece, the fifth movement from Suite in E minor for Lute, BWV 996 (BC L166) written by Johann Sebastian Bach between 1708 and 1717. The piece is arguably one of the most famous among guitarists. Although it owes its name to a French dance, Bach by no means intended his Bourrée to be for dancing. However, its slick tempo and its switch from minor to major in the last chord of each verse gives it a wonderfully jaunty feel.
