A famous holiday favorite! I played this on Ukulele with some nylon string guitar during the last verse and chorus along with some traditional snare drumming.
No click track here – just honest to goodness playing and recording the old fashioned way. The ukulele’s maintain a traditional and almost baroque sound despite their being pigeonholed into the island genre. They evoke the warmth and joy of this traditional song quite well. One lead on the left side, one harmony on the right side and a rhythm part in the middle. The last verse moves up a major third above the fist two verses and sees the addition of the classical nylon string Spanish guitar for the low rhythm part as well as a very traditional style snare drum part.
Short and sweet, it achieves the holiday spirit in just one minute and thirty-four seconds.
