Grieg-Berceuse Op 38 No 1

Grieg-Berceuse Op 38 No 1

Berceuse is the first of Lyric Pieces Op. 38 by famous Norwegian composer Edvard Grieg. Lyric Pieces is a collection of 66 short pieces for solo piano published in 10 volumes. Opus 38 is the second book composed in 1883.

Berceuse is a romantic and progressive piece in G major. It starts with a beautiful melody in a calm tempo. Con Moto part adds movement to the piece. After briefly reminding the main melody in Tre Corde part, music gets faster and tenser again. Then it resolves to the main melody and ends. I have played this piece on a Steinway concert piano. It is ideal for your projects needing a bright romantic solo piano piece.
