The Songs Without Words is a series of short lyrical piano songs by the Romantic composer Felix Mendelssohn, written between 1829 and 1845. The Song Without Words are piano pieces in which a melody played on the piano is accompanied by itself.

Opus 62 was dedicated to Clara Schumann. This number 3 of the series is also known as ‘funeral march’
