Danny Boy

Danny Boy

The lyrics to “Danny Boy” were originally written in 1910 by an Englishman called Frederic Weatherly, in 1913 he made them fit the tune “Londonderry Air”. Even though penned by an Englishman, the song is now considered somewhat of a signature tune and anthem of Ireland.

This is my arrangement of the tune for steel strung acoustic guitar, played Celtic style.

This beautiful serene track would be perfect for any project about Ireland or the Irish, particularly for a St Patrick’s Day project or website, or just for listening!

Being of half Irish descent, it is my honor to present this track to you!
