Chopin Mazurka Op 63 No 2

Chopin Mazurka Op 63 No 2

Mazurka in F minor, Opus 63 No. 2 is a romantic solo piano piece by famous Polish composer Frederic Chopin.

The mazurka is a Polish folk dance in triple meter with strong accents unsystematically placed on the second or third beat. Several classical composers have written mazurkas, with the best known being the 69 composed by Chopin for solo piano. The stylistic and musical characteristics of Chopin’s mazurkas differ from the traditional variety because Chopin created a completely separate and new genre of mazurka all his own. He included chromaticism and harmony in the mazurkas, making them more technically interesting than the traditional dances.

This Mazurka in F minor is the second of Opus 63 Mazurkas written in 1846. It is one of the most melancholic and moving Mazurkas. I have played this piece on a Steinway concert piano. It is ideal for your projects needing a romantic solo piano piece.
