Battle of the Orcs

In the style of Carl Orff or Howard Shore

A piece composed to be an apocalyptic underscore or main title for a battle film or game. I had the idea of huge orcish armies in a fantasy world, overrunning the human homeland compound! Darkness is falling. Dynamic brass (Tuba, Trombone, French Horn and Trumpets), Marching Snare Drums, Percussion (Tubular Bells), Violins, Celli and Contrabass take the orchestration duties.

The choir performance is by the incredible “Symphonic Choirs” and “VOTA” Wordbuilder technologies which allow me to type lyrics, compose notes and the choir sings them – Soprano, Alto, Tenor and Bass. The choir sings in latin the phrase: Locus Desperatus (A desperate Passage).

Composed using Cubase 7, Vienna MIR Pro and Vienna Ensemble PRO, with EW Hollywood Strings and EW Symphonic Choir with VOTA upgrade.
