If you can still stick to flash and make a living from it i say stick with it ,if not better move on man ,I am sure you will love all those tags div around in HTML 5
And you will love to fight browser bugs.
You are way too polite, I think with html5 so call bugs is more identical to the biggest monster bug in the world they found last week in New Zealand’s. .http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-2068547/Weta-insect-Heaviest-world-weighs-3-times-mouse.html
Tsafi, I do both flash and non-flash for a living.
I honestly don’t see what’s so complicated with HTML5 and all the fuss about it. HTML was around a decade ago just with the difference that in the nineties most people built tables instead of nested divs. I remember kids doing crappy pages with frontpage or worse by drawing them in photoshop and exporting the whole crap as a table with sliced gifs.
You know the funny thing? Most new sites don’t even use the new features of HTML5 like auto-validating forms or localization. They just swapped the doctype and that’s it.
^I think the key is tablets it’s is a nice add on as you see how they exploit this word on tf/cc that there file is working on tablets, we cannot state that unless we add Air, but really flash is gone from the mobile browser any way. No matter what they say right now i can do stuff for the web in flash that they can’t do , the question you should ask …do they care about that? Right now i say no they don’t care.
You say they just swapped the doctype and that’s it, maybe that’s what it all the fuss and we just don’t know it
The days we can sit back and point the disadvantages of html over Flash are gone. I mean we already seen enough evidence that no people have time to listen, whether it is your Apple loving client or Adobe, both are on the way to see future possibilities. So it is important to keep your own little part safer rather than depending on decisions of corporations like Adobe. Some times the indigestible occurances like these makes ourself realise the instabilities (better than tsunami’s, those kind of stuff never thinks if it is just a beach sand or nuclear reactor )
Personally I started feeling I made the Flash – HTML switching already late by around 3-6 months (by investing crappy 3D stuff on FP10 , ofcourse I should blame myself – not Adobe). I guess Adobe is so cautious about the fact that Windows Tablets not supporting Flash is the solid indication of closed door.
Indeed: we can discuss technology reasons ad infinitum. But that’s not the problem of flash.
fact that Windows Tablets not supporting Flash is the solid indication of closed door.
Its interesting you mention it, right now i don’t even know if Windows Tablets/mobile phone will except some kind of flash format like Air,i do know that on window 8 Microsoft drop flash completely and if you want to use flash in the IE you need to do some fallback on the IE browser in window 8, Google say it will not adapt to Microsoft new move with no flash ,so it’s going to be massy and hey i love fights .
We all hate Microsoft in general but hey they are still huge in popularity, this is a continue say why i think you shouldn’t even think shifting to any flash gaming platform as it a pure gamble with this lack of clarity regarding flash ,simple no flash no gaming!
