who is it aimed at tho?
Purists wont touch it.
Noobs wont understand it.
So kinda perplexed as to its usefulness.
I was under the impression it was for making html5 based ads – not sites.
“Google Web Designer makes it simple to publish ads through any platform. Choose from DoubleClick Studio or AdMob, or go for the Generic option to push content through any other ad network. No coding required.”
Also agree with @Australia – and saying that all the animations work on all devices is wrong – gonna be a lot of unhappy people when it comes to testing in some of the browsers
All it will do, is drive more people here buying stuff, but thinking they can build the next big thing for…
When they first talked about it a couple of months ago, they had plans to offer it up via adwords so advertisers can create compelling html5 based ads . But from what it looks like I think it’s not limited to ads but you can create a whole site based off Google Web Designer.

Noobs wont understand it—they are offering it for free and i am sure there will be a lot of coverage in the coming months on how to use it from many different publications and this could lead to more adoption.
It definitely will ruffle the web design waters, and Google has plenty of resources and cash to promote it. I read a few comments where you can’t open non-GWB html files in it – may be a deal breaker for most…
But, it looks like it may be a viable tool to create really nice ads and landing pages.
It looks awesome. One of the best landing pages I’ve seen. But, good question, who is it aimed at?
Is there coming a new category on Themeforest for Google Web Designer?
