Good tips. Thank you. I’m doing all of those things…I guess I should have clarified that I was wondering specifically about on site promotion rather than how I drive traffic/buyers to the site. I see that there is a rating system that seems to gain exposure for files and that there are files in popular collections that sell well…I’m not in any yet that I have found. But I’m a newbie. I thought I should check to see if maybe I’m missing something that I need to do on site to better promote my files in the jungle? To add to collections, etc. But thank you for your thoughtful reply OhmLab I do appreciate your feedback. Cheers!
I few things you may or may not know about are in this document http://wiki.envato.com/basics/audiojungle-author-resources/ particularly the Free File of the Month, Homepage Features / Collections, Bargain Basement and Blog Interview submission forms. They are some of the best ways to gain exposure within the marketplaces. Also look out for contests like the sonic slideshow http://audiojungle.net/forums/thread/sonic-slideshow/33986 which will bring exposure within the community.
Also, you can get involved in the Audiotuts+ site http://audio.tutsplus.com/ and comment as you have things to say and link back to your AudioJungle profile.
The only rule for all this is that you don’t self promote on the forums, but basically any post you make on the forums is going to be self promoting a little because everyones avatar links back to their profile automatically.
And then beyond all that, I can attest to the fact that quality and patience are key. Not that I’ve made a ton of sales or anything… I’m just working on continuing to learn more about my DAW of choice and not losing heart when others seem to have overnight success. Know your stuff and it will speak for itself.
So, be encouraged and welcome! By the way, I really enjoyed your Sweet Mellow Acoustic 1 (Loopable) track… great job! I’m still listening to it now.
Just some thoughts.
