Found today a new EQ:
NWEQ is a parametric equalizer.
5 parametric bands (low shelf, band 1-2-3, high shelf).
High quality filters (10 Hz – 22 KHz).
2 cross-fadeable filter models for band 1-2-3.
Works as a filter a bank, too.
Templates for most common EQ applications.
Aesthetic and easy to use interface based on a clear concept.
I can’t remember if I’ve thanked you for any/all of these threads yet Mihai, but even if I have already, thank you very much!
Having all these plugins all collated and introduced is so useful. There are some plugins that you just can’t have too many of, especially (for me anyway) compressors and EQs. Every one has it’s own unique sound and characteristics.
Thanx for thanking me…
Anyway… A great day for mankind (Homo Sapiens), mostly for music makers (Homo Musicus).

Thanks Bootsie for all your wonderful plugins.
Elysia has released niveau filter, a new plug-in that provides the niveau filter section from elysia’s mpressor plug-in as a separate, free, plug-in.
This filter is a specialist in changing the overall sonic character of a signal with ease. It features two comprehensive controllers and is capable of producing convincing results in no time at all. Whenever a classic shelving filter would be too limited and a fully parametric filter would be too much, the niveau filter is the perfect tool.
You need to register to download it (download link is sent to e-mail) but registration is free.

Progress Audio offer some freebies. The most useful seems to me to be their ProgressComp which is the same compressor as found on Progress Audio’s commercial ShapeShifter multi-effect plug-in.
It features quick-and-easy-to-use controls for fast setup, but is still capable of a wide range of sounds.
With a quite spartan interface, can be quite effective. I personally tried it on drums and was good enough to keep
Platinum Ears offers some plugins for free. One of them is L3V3LL3R – colourful compressor.
- One knob compression: turn up the comp knob for more, turn it down for less.
- Soft clipping keeps your peaks below 0dBFS: turn up the Gain knob to drive it harder.
- Powerful envelope shaping, with no calibration for the time constants: use your ears!
- Series mode: switch to mode “II” to get two L3V3LL3Rs running in series for some serious smashing.
- Not that much cpu load at all really. Stick one on every track if you want….
New toys to try…24 hours a day not enough
Anyway, here we go:
Formantbank is a fixed filter bank plugin for Windows VST hosts.
There are 12 filter bands, each with a volume fader plug additional low and high shelving filters. In fact the bands are not complete “fixed” – their frequencies can be shifted all together with the “FORMANT” knob. A special strong effect can be obtained by turning the resonance up. The filtered and the original signal can be blended from 0% – 100%.

Aqualizer is a free, open source, 32-bands parametric equalizer with the possibility to turn on or off any amount of bands up to 32. It allows the peaking frequency to be entered at will and the band width can be adjusted by turning a knob. Each band has a range of -12dB to +12dB, as has the gain slider. Aqualizer also comes with the Go-function, which logarithmically spreads the frequencies between fMin and fMax over the active bands. This allows for precisely setting the range of the bands without having to do lots of calculations by hand.

Atom Splitter Audiohave several nice effects, some free.
Mechaverb is a reverb effect where you can set the ranges of the internal delays which make up the reverb sound, you can also pan the bands and set there mixing amount which gives you a range of possible sounds from large halls to ringy metallic reverbs.
SimpliChorus is a simple stereo chorus effect, it is also a auto pan and volume gate effect, you can adjust the rate in sync and also an independent control with fine, there is feedback and smoothing of the lfo controlling the chorus.
Forma-8 is a free formant filter which can morph between Vowels using 4 corners of a XY pad, this allows for you to make a range of human sounding effects on whatever you are applying too.
As well as the vowel selection you have a choice of spoken and sung types and male and female genders so you can have more choice than simpler range sweeping formant filters.
Those I liked the most, but they have also others
