Later this week you’ll see a new optional attachment type for Wordpress Themes labeled WordPress Theme. The new attachment is intended for just the theme, so no doco, PSDs etc just the files required to install your theme.
So what’s this attachment for you might ask? Well the devs are currently working on a few updates to the Marketplace API and a WordPress plugin that will notify users via their WordPress dashboard when updates are available for their installed theme, users will also be able to 1 click update/install their themes directly from ThemeForest (they’ll just need their license key to authenticate the purchase).
For the new WordPress Theme only attachment all you need to do is ensure that your style.css is populated with theme name, author, version(version number being very important) e.g.
/* Theme Name: Another Awesome Theme Theme URI: http://themeforest.net/item/awesome/1 Author: envato Version: 1.0 */
more details can be found on codex.wordpress.org
We’ll keep you posted, but feel free to start uploading the Wordpress Theme only attachment once it goes live later this week.
They look nice. However, I personally feel the sizing of some of them look a little out of place – such as the “View Profle” button. It seems a bit too big where it is. But that’s probably just me getting used to them.
Yes some of the buttons do look a little out of place at present but we’ve got more changes coming to realign the surrounding elements.
The button update was a pretty big code change (CSS wise) due to so many different style floating around, the plan is to go though the site widget by widget and standardize and refine so future style update are much easier to rollout.
Link color tweaks for ActiveDen and VideoHive are now live.
Shortly you’ll see a marketplace wide update go live updating all the various buttons styles we have scattered across the marketplaces. Check out the before and after example below
This update is aimed at making things a lot more consistent plus easier for the devs to maintain a “heap less code” to quote Ben our Marketplace Front-end Dev (a.k.a Benjamin “Button” Smithett as he’s known in the office now ).
This will be the first in a long line for little code/UI cleanups coming out over the next few months, we’ll also add in a few new features along the way so stay tuned!
Where can you see a complete list of people that follow you and people that you are following?
It’s one of those mystery missing features for the marketplaces (I’m not 100% sure why a follow page has never been built) but not to worry it was added to a backlog of missing features just last month so all going we’ll see it live later this year.
