“When the Light Fades” is a visceral, poignant and melancholic solo piano track written after my separation from my wife. It would work well for cinematic and film projects, tv, documentaries, youtube videos, montages and any productions where a deep sense of emotion is needed.
Interesting note about this track: The first song I ever recorded in a completely dark room. The other unique thing about it is that it is almost 100% improvisation. One of those rare times where my fingers hit all the right notes and knew exactly where to go. It was as if I was on Autopilot for 5 1/2 minutes. Only a tiny bit of editing was done post-recording. This is as close to “live” as you’ll get from me
Sounds like: Max Richter, Ludovico Einaudi, Dustin O’Halloran, Olafur Arnalds
