a beautiful christmas song – played on piano only.
Süßer die Glocken nie klingen | Sweeter the Bells Never Sound
This German Christmas carol dates back to the 1850s. Friedrich Wilhelm Kritzinger, the author of the lyrics, was a German theologian, teacher, and poet born near Berlin on January 24, 1816. For the melody, Kritzinger borrowed a traditional Thuringian harvest song entitled “Dort sinket die Sonne im Westen” (“There the sun sets in the west”).
