Defeat

Let me tell you what I pictured as I created this piece: I envisioned a medieval battle in which the “good” side has lost. The fatally wounded general raises his head in silent horror, crippled with sorrow at the scene of destruction and devastation that surrounds him. He sees the broken, lifeless corpses of old friends and loyal soldiers all around him. This composition is the soundtrack to the final sixty seconds of his life before he succumbs to his wounds.

Or, you know, it could just be your typical “Dead Man Walking” type scenario.
