The Swan

3 versions included for excellent flexibility and different use cases. Part of the DelGibbons signature “Classic Greats” Series, featuring the works of the great composers performed to a premium quality standard. Cello solo performed by professional cellist Matt Constantine (Trinity College of Music, London) Bosendorfer Grand Piano (2 pianos) performed by Derek Gibbons

This piece is perfect as a romantic, relaxing, or mournful accompaniment to Film/TV work, presentations, ballets, weddings, radio plays or any setting requiring a royalty free recording of this piece. The work is intending to imitate a serene gliding swan (the cello part) with the swan’s legs moving under the water doing the work (the piano). Le cygne, or The Swan, is the 13th and penultimate movement of The Carnival of the Animals by Camille Saint-Saëns.

A melody for solo cello is accompanied by two pianos. It is best known/played on the cello, as recorded here.

Gymnopedie Number One

Gymnopedie Number One composed by Erik Satie, performed by Derek Gibbons on the Bosendorfer 290 Imperial VSL piano, “the most realistic sampled piano ever created”. http://www.viennaimperial.com/

This piece is a calm, relaxing classic great written by French composer Erik Satie as part of his series of Gymnopedies, published in 1888. The themes which Satie based his piece around were those of dance, antiquity, melancholy and atmosphere, and this version would work perfectly for film soundtracks, TV commercials, podcasts, presentations and relaxing atmospheres.

Ave Maria

A classical representation of “Ave Maria” originally adapted by Gounod from Bach, Ave Maria is a popular and much-recorded setting of the Latin text Ave Maria, originally published in 1853 as Méditation sur le Premier Prélude de Piano de S. Bach. The melody is performed on the flute, french horn and clarinet, with added celeste and double bass pizzicato alongside the VSL Vienna Imperial Bosendorfer Piano.

The piece consists of a melody by the French Romantic composer Charles Gounod especially designed to be superimposed over the Prelude No. 1 in C major, BWV 846, from Book I of J.S. Bach’s The Well-Tempered Clavier, written some 137 years earlier.

This piece is ideal for commercials, films, reflective sequences, TV work, advertising, podcasts, internet work and theatre.
