In 1953, American President, Dwight D. Eisenhower gave a speech before the General Assembly of the United Nations entitled Atoms for Peace. This is part 1 of a 5 part series that chronicles the entire speech. Long held by many as a one of the most important presidential speeches of it’s time and a pivotal moment for the American people in general, I have maintained the integrity of the original recording as well as the timeline. The timing is exactly the same as he delivered it in 1953, and all edits have been done by hand – no special software was used in the creation of this project. Any stutter edits, stereo delays, etc were fit into the small moments of silence in his delivery.
My hope is to not only provide an entertaining interpretation of this historical event, but give a complete account of what transpired that day. The edits that were made to the original recording have in no way altered the words spoken or the order in which the were spoken. What you hear is exactly what President Eisenhower said, in the order he said it.
I hope you enjoy this first installment of the series and will seek out the other four. I am looking forward to offering many more tracks like it.
