I’m always sad Flash seems to be going out 
It had such massive potential not to mention that it was a designer-friendly option for web (granted, you need coding to get into the hardcore stuff, but still, so much could be done simply with the interface).
I remember when Flash first came out… I didn’t even mind waiting 5 minutes for those massive websites to load, because man, they were so beautiful So much creativity on the web back then… I miss it.

Flash isn’t dying, it’s here to stay… Here’s an excerpt from a recent FWA author interview which I think brings up some very good points:
Do you think Flash is here to stay?
Yes! Flash is still essential for the web. At the end, I do believe all the anti-flash talks did Flash a favour. There was a real need for flash technology to get focused again. Now, Flash is used much more wisely and the platform will take back its place as a preferable medium for building cutting edge and rich-experience web projects.

I still get tons of jobs for flash advertising. There isn’t yet enough horsepower under html5 for real rich media and if you try to do anything more complex than a few tweened sprites or some stinky parallax scrolling page you’ll end up getting insane.
Though working with flash doesn’t mean you cannot get your hands dirty with other tools.
