I dont know if someone already had done a post about this, if so, delete this post :)

As an author of GraphicRiver, recently I’ve been using Photodune images for my projects, I’ve noticed when I save an image, the default name is the same as the original file that was uploaded, for example “DSC_0289.jpg”.

It happened to me, I save a picture, when I need to buy it or refer to the stock used, I find that my image has a name DS_0289.jpg, How could I find my picture with that name? In some cases it works but not always.

From my point of view would be much easier for buyers and authors, that when you save the image, the default name would be the code (file number). So when you use an image on a project and this is approved, you only have to search using the code number (or file name) to buy it.

What do you think? :)

ps. Sorry for my English.

The Short way:

Go to your downloads, organise by marketplace and copy the url of the photo from there

The Long way:

If you use a mac press command+i (get info) or windows RIGHT CLICK – PROPERTIES you will find the url there, eg.:

photodune-675935-cute-young-married-couple-s.jpg

However, you must copy photodune-675935-cute-young-married-couple and do a search in good, the first result will be the same photodune photo.

don’t copy -s.jpeg :)

Hope this helps you.

Ps: I don’t change the names when it’s downloaded. I hope I have understood your question.

I was thinking the same while working on my current item. The way I found out the url was to first use the Google reverse image search, which gave me the link to 123rf search. There I found out the name of the image and only then using the photodune search with the relevant title did I found out the address of the image. Pretty long procedure.

In short, I agree with you. But since authors at photodune I assume would always be taking tons of pics it would be quite impossible to rename their files, no? I’m not sure about this though.

@ShermanJackson: I think EAMejia would already know that but what I think is that we don’t always buy the images before finally deciding as to which one to keep. I think that is what he is asking about. How to find the images which we haven’t bought.

The best way is to bookmark it and create multiple private bookmarks with your project name and add the images used in the project to be bookmarked on that private bookmark with your project name

I think the renaming process (only for the preview image) would be done automatically when the system assigns the file number

Oh right! I forgot that it’s the preview images we’re using. I would love to hear staff/dev opinion about this. Would it be too hard to implement something like this or, if it’s possible or not?

@cloud9communication Good point!

In my opinion I think it’s more friendly for buyers and authors to save a picture on the computer and have a name like “Title of the photo or file code”. Like istock.. or shutter.. do. ;)
