Wireframe design is necessary for website design?

I have a query that, every one do website design after wire frame design? which one you use? is it necessary? without this we can not design website? I have ever used any wire frame till now, is it useful to improve the quality of the design and reduce the time consumption for the website?

I think it depends on the designer. Some of them need wireframes, some not.

I personally use simple wireframes as guidelines. It helps to have an initial idea of the design, although sometime the final product is completely different.

I do use wireframe but only for complex websites like a shop or a big website(wireframes will cost time and time is money)

I use a couple of big whitboards and a tool called “Balsamiq Mockups” which is very cheap if you ask me.

When to use a sketch/mockup/wireframe? If you have enough time(or money ;)) and if the project is a (little bit) complex/big(shop, wordpress, cms of big html websites)

I usually do a wire frame to fine tune dimensions layouts before worrying about the actual styling of the site. For me it’s a better work flow.

A wire frame takes no time at all to do so I don’t subscribe to the time and money argument. In the long run it will save you more time as you wont be going back to restructure later in the project.
