My dream app is a decent code editor for Windows. Something that looks awesome. Something that has lots of awesome features. Something that feels awesome! Something like Coda, but then for Windows![]()
Which editors have you tried?
I currently use UltraEdit32 and have never gone back.
Here is my list of features that I use it for:- FTP / SFTP / SSH
- SSH / Telnet Console
- File Transfers (Local to Remote); I still use FileZilla to do this
- Macro’s (Record keystrokes to perform them again and again, or make quick debugging)
- Multiple Language Support (C#, HTML , JavaScript, Perl, PHP to name a few)
- Allows quick searching. I can highlight a word and click on the PHP .NET button and it brings up the manual
There is a trial version if you want to try it out.
Back on topic
I am also a .NET developer (from my old job). There is always the one problem of what do people want to see for a program.

I have tried e-texteditor, notepad++, and netbeans. I really want a text editor with a clean UI and lots of features. UltraEdit32 might have those features, but you have to agree, the UI is just crap.
Man, are you guys deprived… I have access to Coda and I still don’t use it. Espresso FTW

Notepad++ is pretty nice. Not UI-wise, but it’s a pretty nice tool.

I used espresso but had to switch to coda because it was slow while typing. Also, coda has some really good and useful features espresso doesn’t have.
- Bought between 10 and 49 items
- Exclusive Author
- Has been a member for 2-3 years
- Referred between 10 and 49 users
- Sold between 5 000 and 10 000 dollars

What do you mean “it was slow while typing”? It types as fast as you type. LOL
And what are these features, may I ask?

I mean while I started typing the app started to behave sluggishly

Something on your end in that case. I’ve been using it from the day I got my Mac, through multiple versions, and never had anything like that.
for an idea only, i really wish there’s a much better way to transfer big files between PCs and MACs.
