The real question is when he will become #1
Oooh… this will get really interesting. It’s a like a tournament of sorts for us spectators. I’ve been following the meteoric rise of PinkZebra (he’ll attest to me constantly commenting on his tracks) and am I’m honoured to be the presenter to this imaginary sporting event:
On paper it looks like there are three strong contenders here (for now) for the no.1 spot: Tim McMorris, Soundroll and PinkZebra
But actually AudioQuattro has started uploading quite a bit here again so he may rise to take the crown…
Tim is obviously No. 1 in both total sales and monthly sales but the more observant amongst you will have noticed that Soundroll has two accounts and they sum up to more total sales.
PinkZebra has been here a lot less time than the others but has risen very quickly to match the other guys, of course one could also argue that he stepped in at the right time when the volume of sales increased here dramatically and all authors here can agree that sales have really increased here over the past year and a half.
As musicians I put them all at par and they all have special traits that have helped them rise (unique musical style, creative web design etc.) I honestly think that it all boils down to how much outside work they have and how that will mean less time spent putting tracks here.
To be honest, I’m pretty sure none of them care who is no. 1… it’s more entertaining for us spectators if anything. After all they all earn in the thousands per month so I’m sure they really don’t care about the top author rankings…
Still… it would be pretty exciting to see one of these guys take on Kriesi or Peerapong for the envato crown!!
Yeah, taking on the WordPress guys is the real challenge, haha!
The good thing for us: WordPress will probably not last forever, but music will!
...only 8 behind now.
It’s exciting watching the battle for first place. Way to set the bar high, and it really is an inspiration to see what sales numbers can be hit!
And it finally happened! My Saturday guess was right (ignoring OZ time).
