I have a different problem.

it’s kind of new cuz I’ve never experienced this before. suddenly my photoshop decides to close itself with no warning. Just “POOF” and it’s closed. Lost all my work that hasn’t been saved yet.

Anyone got a clue about this?

Try it : Press that keys together ( Alt + Shift + Ctrl ) still holding them and click on PS icon to run it while that window will appear to ask you if you want to rest the PS setting to the default ? Press OK an wait the program to open , i hope it will be right .

This is because you can’t divide a pixel. So at those mm dimensions it would actually cause a pixel to be cut in half, so to speak… so PS has to force the mm dimensions to next full pixel size. Hope that makes sense.

You can see a more detailed explanation here.

First off, in the future you should probably start your own thread regarding your issue rather than hi-jacking someone else’s thread… just kinda rude when it doesn’t pertain to their question.

As for your question, it just sounds like PS crashed. This can be caused by a few different things. Sometimes working with really large and/or complex files can cause memory issues depending on how much memory you have available vs. how much the file is consuming… also, if your file somehow gets corrupted PS can crash when trying to open it or work with it. I don’t know what version of PS you have, but there’s a lot of answers on Google if you search for “photoshop csX crashed”.. replace X with your version number.

This can help sometimes, but can also be a pain if you have customized PS preferences to your liking. In my case, I would do this as one of my last resorts so that I don’t have to re-setup PS to my preferred workflow.

Its because of the metric <> imperial system. DPI is based on dot per inch so thats why the Photoshop calculate and make a tiny amendment for the sizing. Practically thats 0.02mm is nothing. Niggling, like a flea’s fart.

If you feel uncomfortable of the width-height inaccuracy you can change the dpi to metric 300 dpi is 118.111 dot/cm. But once when you change it back again to dpi you will get 299.999 dpi.

This expains :

216mm = 8.50394 Inches

300dpi means 300 pixels per Inches so,

8.50394 inches x 300(dpi) = 2551.182 pixels we dont have 0.182 pixel so photoshop takes the 2551 pixels,

2551 pixels / 300 dpi = 8.5033333333333333 inches

8.503333333333 inches = 215.98mm

Thats why it happens.
