ps: I apologize for the expansion of this thread
What a great thread, would love to see more. It seems there are a lot of creative folks here beyond their music abilities.
As for me, I am an Art Director for a health company, have been in the graphic design/print business for almost 20 years. I have always played music from an early age, first drum kit in grade 6 and never looked back, picked up the guitar, bass, ukulele, numerous percussion instruments throughout the years and have been playing around on the piano the last little while. Toured across Canada for a couple of years with a Top 40 band late 80’s, had a small band that went nowhere, but the guitarist ended up touring with a number of acts including Sarah Mclachlan.
Now I am here as a newbie posting my creativity, music will always be a part of me.
I work in the juridical domain. I’ve started playing an instrument 10 years ago, I was in highschool, in the 9th grade.
All music all the time… I spend my days composing, teaching, booking gigs, learning songs, doing sessions, coordinating music for my church, etc.
Cool thread! I work overnights as an assistant manager for a gas station. Good times.. haha. I teach guitar on the side and am working towards being able to do that, and other music things as a full time income eventually. It will be about a 5 year transition for me if my math is correct. Seems like forever right now but I know it’s worth it, and worth being prepared to make that kind of switch.
I work for a charity organisation supporting people with mental health problems. I love this job too so part time on AJ would be perfect for me.
I am a student – the architecture, the design of buildings and structures.
Well, I have another crappy job… I work as grains inspector… It’s not hard, but there’s a lot of heat and dirt…
