Hi guys!
You probably don’t know me, but I help out here on the marketplaces. Anyhow, I’m going to be focusing a good bit on pricing here in the next few weeks, and I’d love to hear your thoughts. Do you think files on AudioJungle are underpriced…overpriced? Let me know – and we might be able to make some changes!
Or – if pricing is pitch perfect, let me know that too!
I think they are underpriced – when you start looking at other quality sites that sell audio AJ could easily raise their prices to to the $24-$29 dollar range and still be very competitive.

I think the prices are incredibly reasonable for what you get.
While I agree that the prices could be put up to $24-$29 – there’s no way that AJ would put that much of a price hike on things from where they are now. I do think that a $14 file currently could be valued at $20 and I don’t think many people – in the grand scheme of things – would bat an eyelid.
Hi Jeff, thanks for asking!
I’ll give a big +1 to the above responses. I doubt you’ll find many authors here who think that their tracks are overpriced
I think the pricing is fairly reasonable, factoring in the fact that buyers have the option for extended license which costs more.
It may not be a bad thing to raise the price for the basic license, but I feel the low pricing helps drive buyers to the site, hence more sales to make up for the lower price.
Also, I feel that the great split that AJ offers authors for exclusivity makes it more palatable for the authors who provide such great content.
My 2 cents.
Given the quality of music overall here, I feel the prices are low. I’ve always thought that the $14 tag is a pretty oddball figure to top out at as well.
I think the prices for the “Regular license” are very low, the prices for “Extended license” are ok. The average price for track nowadays is 35$ among other successful sites: 20-25$ for regular license and 50-80$ for “Extended license”.
But what hurts are the lowest rates that could possibly be for the composer.
If the composer’s rates were “Ok” (40-50% for non-exclusive author) the sales would be the same (high, compared to other sites) but the composer would earn the normal money. So in my opinion, the rates are more important. Cause again, the prices would be the same, wouldn’t hurt the clients and the composer would earn his fair piece of pie.

Definitely agree with the above comments. There was a nice price increase for us around this time last year, and I believe its around the time for another.
I agree that almost doubling the prices would probably never happen, but turning the $8, $11, and $14 price points into like $11, $15, $19 would work great I think.
Well the thing is, we as authors would always love to get more money, meaning higher prices, but the buyers always want it for less, meaning spend less. Finding that middle ground is difficult but I think it is stable where it is currently at. The only thing I would suggest/recommend is adding another price tier. If I’m correct, a track costs $14 if it is above 2:00 in duration. I believe we should another tier such that if a track is over 4-5 minutes in duration, then it costs $17 or more. At least in my case, I spend longer on tracks with longer duration, hence I would like that extra dollar or two for that additional amount of work invested.
