It makes absolutely no sense to make it regular. Then it loses any kind of impact at the birthday. It would also cause upload rushes in the week before the 70%, causing a headache for everyone, not just the reviewers.
If there’s more money in the kitty and Envato wants to distribute some of that to the authors, then I would suggest a small, across the board rate rise, with the top rate becoming 75%
Right at the moment, I think they need to be re-investing as much of profit as possible in getting the sites up to scratch and advertising. There’s a long list of things that need doing and no significant updates for a looooooong time.
At the end of the day, it’s the quality, competitiveness and visibility of these marketplaces that is going to make the biggest difference to our earnings as authors.

+1 Yeah, that’s probably a bad idea. I would agree with 75% rise, though. Who wouldn’t?

I think we should be thankful for the week of 70% in the first place.

If you sold $75,000 worth of items you’d be at 70% rate anyway, eh?
Yes, this is what I am saying

Maybe in a fair world, we all should start with 70%.. we are the authors at the end.

quickandeasy saidI’d say it is not a good idea, the harder it is to get to the 70% rate the better it feels once you do. High rate is a reward for hard work and consistency through the months/years.
