I was surprised to see the new player today, and i have to agree with most of the people here that i am not really liking the new style. It’s probably because i was so used to the old one adjusting always takes time.

First impression i really disliked, i may be nitpicking but i don’t understand why you would change this feature. When you clicked and dragged the volume bar of the previous player the audio would lower/higher itself while you did it so you knew when to release to have your desired volume, now you have to click and hear the difference each time and just guess if its good or not before hand.. if you click and drag you have to release to hear the changes. Like i said, it’s nitpicking but still, little things like this can and should be improved in my opinion, i heard it so many times from Envato staff and alike, when something isn’t broken don’t fix it.

Also what others said about the total length of the preview once you open it is always nice, you exactly know if you are going to completely watch this preview or not. When i open a preview and it’s 2 minutes or more i usually scrub through it after 10 seconds of watching, but anything within a minute or 30 seconds i usually just watch through.. small things like this can make up for so much more time in the long haul.

There is a word to describe these little tiny things i describe here where i came from, if the people here read this they would say to me i was AntFu#!ing.

But hey, if you can make a lot of small improvements the end result can be pretty big

• no need of those red colored graphics parts in player like sound adjusment bar, play button, timeline bar color, it was very simple and good looking when it was black and white.
• the current time code and the full duration of the preview has to be there all the time
• no auto hide is needed
• the blown out pixelated image preview at the start looks very cheap, it shouldn’t be there
• toggle the looping of the video is needed
• fullscreen is nice

+1 you’ve gotta show the total time like it used to have, Of Course.

and while we’re talking about video players, would you please add the ‘fullscreen’ icon toggle? jwplayer has that, and for us buyers it would be important to be able to fullscreen preview, it’s just a flasvar allow fullscreen ‘true’ toggle in the embed code.

but yeah what’s up with no time visible on the timeline? please fix that back asap; as a buyer I need to see the total time, scrub playback head relative to total time of the preview, as do other buyers.

yes… you have to guess what sound it is going to be, no real time sound adjusment. Very sad.

You are right. I noticed the same on the previews with bright (white and almost white) background.


Edit: But only in chrome. In ff and ie colors are fine.

I thought I was crazy because I didn’t think anyone else noticed this haha.

My subjective opinion, this new player looks really cheap!!! I find older player better functionality and look!
