I have a suggestion for the audio track rating system. I think the highest and lowest rating should be dropped from the average rating. I have noticed that a one star rating from a purchaser can quite negatively effect your rating. It is hard to understand why a purchaser would give a track a 1 star rating when they can audition the entire track prior to purchase.
I have also noticed that it is very easy to give the wrong rating. By dropping the lowest and the highest rating you are are being fair to the intent of the rating system, much like the olympics drop the lowest and highest score when they judge many of the events.
Just a thought, would love other users comments.
That’s a good idea, remove the highest and lowest rating kinda like they do in some Olympic events. I know it’s frustrating when a file in unfairly rated for example and one bad rating affects the overall rating of a file.
To be honest with you, I don’t think the current rating system is all that useful in its current form for the needs of AudioJungle. Just like you said, why would someone listen to a track, buy it because they need it and like it, and then go and rate it anything less than 5? The person buying the file knows exactly what they are getting before they purchase it!
So that said, I can assure you that we are currently investigating a better way to rate files, particularly on AudioJungle, there’s just no telling at the moment when that solution might be implemented…
