I guess I don’t understand, how can a day spent writing music be a bad day? What ever the style? And you can make money doing it… it doesn’t get much better than that.

So I’m assuming you’re buying ukulele, bro?

Probably not the expected response…but with that said, timing was perfect on your response and I am still giggling…nice one ;-)

+1, I love the fact to be challenged to write for AJ and the smile it puts on my face when I sell a track… priceless, I hope the excitement never grows old. Well said BHM.

Yes, we’re slaves because our self-expression masterpieces are not subjectively valued by other people enough for them to want to throw as much money/bananas/hugs/recognition/etc at us as we want them to.

Yes. We’re totally enslaved.

Or... maybe we’re not slaves. Maybe slaves are slaves, and we’re just people who whine about stuff.

Well, to be honest – if you make PERFECT track in your favourite genre, it will be sold. May be not as good as some corporate tune, but man, just look which tracks sales. Different genres, but one principle – excellent quality. The problem is most of time we THINK our music is perfect, but the truth is – it is far away from perfection, or near perfection. So i learned one lesson – improve your quality. I saw here house tracks, tracks for yoga, music for children selling like hot cakes. Best selling track are usually top in qulaity. That is the truth. Express your selft and make it superb. Thats all.

Thanks for the wisdom guys. It seems that in the 3.5 years long process of improving my skills, I had lost the initial motivation. The love for it. Won’t happen again. I look forward to the end of this month when I’ll begin my next piece. Or should I say my “first” piece.. I’ll enjoy every second of making it. Thanks everybody.

A bad day writing music is like a bad day playing golf. Both beat a good day at the office.
